Finance & Fund Operations
Our Services

We identify where AI removes cost and where it quietly adds risk.
Every engagement begins with a scoping conversation. If a smaller package is the right starting point, we will say so.
The finance team carries the heaviest manual load in most firms, and little of it is judgement. It is assembly: capital call and distribution notices rebuilt each cycle, allocation percentages checked by eye, administrator files reconciled line by line, the same reporting pack recut for different audiences. We target the work that repeats, using Anthropic's Claude against the general ledger, the administrator's records and the fund documents that govern both. The aim is not a finance function without people. It is one where the checking happens first, the exceptions are surfaced with their provenance attached, and a person signs off before anything leaves the building.

Notices, Allocations and Reconciliation
We start where the same work is done every period. Capital call and distribution notices are produced from the allocation schedule, the commitment register and the terms in the fund documents, with each investor amount tested against the ledger and the previous notice before the pack is assembled. Management fee and carried interest calculations are recomputed independently against the agreement and the waterfall, and where the recomputation disagrees, the workflow explains the difference rather than only flagging it. Invoices are read, coded and tested against the expense allocation policy, with anything outside it held back.
Reconciliation compares your books to the administrator's file, groups breaks by likely cause and drafts the query. Portfolio company financials are collected, chased and normalised into your template. The line is simple: the system proposes, a person posts. It does not approve a call, release a notice, sign a reconciliation or set a valuation. Accounting policy and the interpretation of a fund document stay with the controller.

How We Scope Finance Work
The Diagnostic is a paid, time-boxed look at one full close and one full call and distribution cycle. We follow the work rather than the org chart, and return a written account of which steps repeat, which depend on a workbook nobody has documented, which data will support automation and which will not, and what should be left as it is.
The Pilot takes a single process, narrow in scope, with a named owner inside the finance team and a measure agreed before it starts, usually exceptions caught and time to first draft. Build connects the surviving workflow to the general ledger, the administrator feed and your document store, with approval steps and segregation of duties designed in rather than retrofitted. Run covers monitoring, the evidence your auditors and your LPs will want about how a figure was produced, and re-scoping as structures and reporting obligations change.

Pilot: a single process, a named owner in finance, exceptions caught as the measure
Build: connect the ledger, the administrator feed and the document store
Run: monitoring, audit evidence, and re-scoping as structures change
